Zodiac Crimes script question

Post by rsaffle »

I'm working on a prop replica from "The Zodiac Crimes". Batman uses a "Portable Bat-Extinguisher" of some type but I can't read the text on it very clear. It looks to read "Extinguisher something". I was wondering if someone with the script could tell me if they name it in the text?
Thanks guys!

Stephen Kandel's unused draft titled The Astrologer, which floated a new villain as perpetrator of The Zodiac Crimes, has our hero respond to the fire as follows: "Batman whips out a Batspray bulb and sprays it, dousing it."

Maybe the revised script with Joker and Penguin references the mini-extinguisher, but I don't have it. Good luck!

[Edit: While re-watching that scene to try to glean what the label says on the bat-extinguisher, I noticed for the first time that, a second or so after Batman "stows" it back in his utility belt, you can hear the prop hit the floor.]

My scripts are in storage at the moment, but maybe our pal Troy could help out on this one?

as I mentioned, you can't read what is written as the text, only "ISHER" is visible so hopefully a script may add something

That's funny. It also goes from his left hand to his right hand for the close up.

As usual, you get the cleanest screen grabs imaginable, A.P.! Great work.

Is it just me, or does it look like there might be a second row of type that ends below the "I" in "ISHER"?

I agree about A Pennyworth, he always helps me out. I also agree with the second row of text but I'm left having to guess.

Extinguisher "Spray"‽ Not many words would even make sense

The script is quite vague here, just a suggestion for the prop guys to run with I guess...

As far as what it fully says, I'm unsure, but here is another shot that reveals a tad more.

Fluid Extinguisher? I'm sure BAT is in there somewhere....

I'm essentially with Troy...my guess is

BAT
EXTINGUISHER
FLUID

Assuming "BAT" was most likely there.

I guess I have to watch the entire series frame by frame from now on. Can't believe I missed that capture. Yes it looks like FLUI for FLUID. Glad there are more eyes on the job! Thanks for the script input Troy and the FLUID wording grab

Perfect!! I will finish this up asap.

When I was laying a font across the photos my best guess is Bat is not on there because it doesn't look like enough space.
With that said I do still plan on putting Bat on it. Lol

Appreciate you all guys! I have to find a way to get better captures myself somehow. A. Pennyworths are awesome.

Thinking about character/line spacing, is it possible it reads EXTINGUISHER BAT-FLUID?
