Batman Photo of Me from 1980

Here's a picture of me (Batman) and my buddy next door back in 1980. Found it today and scanned it to share. My cowl was leftover from the batsuit my mom made me for Halloween a few years earlier. But it didn't conceal my identity, so some construction paper fixed that.

Reminds me of my brother and I in about the same time frame. We spent countless hours running around "portraying" Batman and Robin, Superman, and several other super heroes, Star Wars, G. I. Joe, cowboys and Indians... all kinds of things. Too bad now it seems that so many kids of that age are inside on the couch playing some sort of electronic device...

That's cool! I used to have one of the Ben Cooper (?) costumes (the one that said BATMAN across the chest insignia) and my brother and I would stage Bat-fights on the front lawn. This was in the early 1970s I think. Those were the days...

Wow, great stuff! So cool that you and your friend teamed up as Batman and Robin. I remember doing that with my friends as well.

I love the kit-bashed costumes like this. I had several myself, including parts cribbed from this Batman costume my mom made for me around 1984. I sent it in to my friend Brian over at Plaid Stallions. Some other great costume pics there as well.
