The #4 Barris Batmobile Is In the House!

I am proud and blessed to say that Fiberglass Freaks has begun the job of restoring the screen-used #4 Barris-built dragster Batmobile. Things have certainly come full-circle for me: this was the first full scale Batmobile I ever saw. The year was 1976, and I was eleven-years-old. Seeing this car in person is what cemented the dream of building this car. And now, thirty-eight years later, I am restoring it. Whodathunk? The owner is D. Jackson, from Vegas. He bought it 15 years ago.

Mark, the fact that you get to lay your hands on an original Barris car is enough to give us all fits of jealousy. Not to mention the areas of expertise you have in the Batmobile department....

Now if someone can just persuade Mr. Rick Champagne, the new owner of the #1, to do the same!

The old girl could then be brought back to her original 1966 glory, and FREE of all of the silly Barris placed labels and things that do NOT belong on her!

Thanks so much for your kind words, gang. The tear down is pretty much complete, and now we are in the process of rebuilding the car. It has been a blast!
