Steel City Con

I am attending my first con Aug 8th. It will be in Pittsburgh. I will be the Adam West Batman, and there will be a batmobile. It will be my first time sitting in one. Anybody from the Board ever go to the con in Pittsburgh

Yep, for many many years. We longtimers still call it "toy show." He's trying to make it bigger and bigger with more diverse activities, which is great for him and many of the attendees, but others like me just wish it was tables of stuff to peruse and a handful of celebrities as it used to be. It's the reason that I've met Adam and Burt.

Bumping this, as Adam and Burt are returning to Steel City Con for the December show.

It was announced today that a photo op with Adam, Burt, and the replica Batmobile will be offered. Pricing to be announced next week. I'm sure it will be in the three digits, but how many more chances...?

Prices have been announced for Adam & Burt:

Adam autos are $80, $70 for photos.

Burt autos are $60, $65 for photos.

Adam/Burt combo photo is $135, Adam/Burt/Batmobile combo photo is $155.

Unfortunately, it's been announced that Adam & Burt have cancelled their appearance at the December Steel City Con, "due to personal reasons."

I wonder if someone is ill, since they seem to be canceling everything. I hope not.

Saves me $155, but I'd really be upset had I not met them before.

Burt Ward appeared by himself at ComiKaze Con on November 1st and stated that Adam West was quite sick.

Every show for years, several old men have the '66 Viewmaster reel set for $50, $60, etc. I wouldn't pay that, but it's something I've always wanted. They were back at this show, and I looked longingly and walked past. At a table two aisles over, run by a gentleman that at past shows I've picked up some local Pittsburgh items from, there it was, complete with the booklet that I didn't even realize came with it, marked $6.95. When I went to pay the man, still in awe, I told him that I'd been wanting it for a long time. He replied, "You can have it for $6." Great day!

Also picked up the Figures Toy Company Penguin for just $20.

In addition to Adam and Burt, Julie Newmar has been added to the upcoming Steel City Con on August 7-9.

I believe the Batstars are scheduled for the 8th and the 9th.
