#1 Futura/Batmobile On The Auction Block?

Post by Mark Racop »

In case you hadn't heard, it appears that the #1 screen-used Futura/Batmobile will be auctioned in Scottsdale, Arizona at Barrett-Jackson in mid-January. A relative of a friend on the 1966batmobile.com website confirmed it with the Barris staff at BKI customs yesterday.

Posters are circulating about what it will bring--some speculating perhaps even $10 million!

Let's hope it goes to a buyer that has someplace where people can still see it rather than somebody's reclusive warehouse.

Yikes! How potentially sad this could all be...

I'm glad I got my "turn" with it at BKI. But i'm sorry for all those who may miss out on the opportunity in the future depending as to where it ends up.

Eric Seltzer has confirmed that that it is the #1 screen used Batmobile, the one from BKI's show room, that will be going on the auction block.

I'll be watching that auction for sure. Like Scott said, let's hope the new owner will still share it's beauty with us all.

i really hope your right about that scott.. hopefully it will be sold to someone that will put in on display... would be nice if Autoseum a teaching museum on LI NY could have bought it and displayed it.. Andy Perillo and Mike Manning run this place.. Andy had the oppurtunity to help build this iconic car..

This could be bad or good depending on who owns it it could be better displayed and cared for or disappear forever into somebodies private collection

We should all donate some money in time for the auction and buy her.. then we could display it and take good care of it and know where she is
