Adam West, Lee Meriwether and the Batcopter at Niagara Falls

Post by Catfan »

Looks like another Bat event is shaping up, this time in Niagara Falls, Ontario on 8-9 June. Lee Meriwether and the original Bat copter will appear at this venue, as will other celebrities and comic book artists. Here is the link to the event!

I'm sure the closer we get we'll hear something. I still hope he'll be well enough for Tampa in August.

Hi everyone. I went to the Niagara show yesterday. It was packed! I'll keep the report short. I met up with Andrew Murray and his Batmobile. It looks amazing. Andrew worked for four years building it. I hadn't seen him since the London, Ontario event in 2008 so it was great to catch up.

Adam wes indeed there and looked great. I had a couple of things signed and we chatted for a couple of minutes. He had the longest lineup in the place by far. I only had a couple of hours to stay at the show and wouldn't have been able to wait in the line. Thanks again, Fred ! ;)

I had a great visit with Lee. I brought an original copy of the script from her King Tut episode to get signed. She loved it, and was flipping through it looking for a few specific scenes. She is always so warm and gracious. Such a great lady.

When I first got there there at 11am was literally nobody in line to buy tickets. When I left at @pm the lineup to buy tickets was the length of the building outside and then half that again inside. It would easily have been over an hour just to get in. I'm really lucky I got there when I did.

Oh yes, one more thing - no Batcopter....

After the show we hit the casino and then dinner and home. It was a great day.

i was there also

sucked that the batcopter was not there and it was not posted in advance that it wasnt coming

Adam West has now officially peed off most canadian fans. $60 a pop for an autograph. And you could not take pics of him. On sat he had his handlers trying to block the cameras. and on sunday they moved screens around him so you couldnt take any.

He needs to realize the fans are they only thing keeping him in business--everyone i talked to agreed that his prima dona antics are killing any desire to see him. I have met him two times in the past and its only getting worse. Next year i hope they keep him home and bring Burt or Yvonne in!

I HATE when people bash Adam and Fred about the cost of the autographs and how they handle themselves at the shows. FYI, Adam has been charging $60 for autographs for a while now, and at every show I go to, hew ALWAYS has the longest lineup. So I don't think that the price is hurting the desire for fans to meet him at all. No doubt there are some people who will not want to pay, but that is their decision.

As far as the "no picture" policy, there are a couple of reasons for that. First, since he has the longest lineup, allowing everyone to take a picture would significantly slow it down and make it a much longer wait for everyone, and second, he usually offers special photo ops, so offering free pictures would take away that business from him. In Niagara, he didn't do the photo op because he hurt his back and couldn't stand up to do them.

Adam is entitled to charge whatever he wants to for his autographs and if you don't like it don't pay it, but don't bash him. He isn't there to do you a favour, like it or not he goes to the shows because that is one of the ways he makes a living. Yes, I'm sure he really enjoys meeting the fans, but he doesn't work for free, just like everyone else.

Great write up Ivan.

That is awesome that you had Lee sign the script. That is beyond cool! You two should've acted out a couple of the scenes together lol.

Hope all is well with you and Alison pal.
