Re: SDCC 2022
All the original Ideal molds to Captain Action figures, Silver Streak, Marx Big Loo etc are at a Mexican toy factory. It's just a question of a toy company with enough money to get them reissued.
Re: SDCC 2022
THey've had them for a number of years. A short train ride from SDCC is a Mexican tourist area which always features bootleg American toys-- you can find some amazing knockoffs especially Batman figures-- I've made the pilgrimage three times since they took over the molds and still have seen nothing.

Did you happen to see this limited edition print in person?

Re: SDCC 2022
Yup, I KNEW there was something I forgot to check out.
I'm already back home, the show wasn't overly insane crowd wise but I've been over the mask mandate thing for nearly two years where I come from so walking around with one on was oppressive (no politics please just a statement of comfort) so I wrapped up my meetings and jumped on an early flight.
BUT, I still have boots on the ground there, so I have sent a request with Josh's (aka Shag) booth number to see if we can get a look and if they're sold out or not. I will diligently report their findings.
PS- That cowl avatar is amazing, Ben. For your tenth anniversary I hope you get her a Batgirl one and we get a posed pic!

Ask and ye shall receive.
Looks great in person (I'm told) and it's $1400 but it's framed. That may sound crazy-- but Josh's out of print lithos can sell for upwards of $10k, so this might be an investment. It's neat, but an easy pass for me.

Re: SDCC 2022
I am just now going through 4 days of pics.
There hardly anything 66 related. I searched high and low for McFarland toys Catwoman and mr freeze, but alas there were none to be found. I am a huge fan of Shag. His booth was decorated with large prints of the 66 screen,"Batcave Breach" I believe it was named. $600 not framed, was hard to pass up for me.
I did find some Green Horent reproductions, and some pins ( I got the pins) they also offered the
$900 batcave diorama.
Here are some of the shots

The jafa is being re-released in a few months with joker and penguin figures. There is also robin in the passenger seat, I dont remember if he was in the original release.
I did not see any 66 cosplay either.

Whoa, that "Ben Cooper" Batman Halloween costume caught my eye!
I see it's from Rubies, but hey maybe if it's just a plastic mask and cape, even they can't mess it up too badly. Maybe.

"You were right again, Batman. We might have been killed."
"Or worse. Let's go..."

Oh man, I totally missed that there was going to be GH pins! I would jump on those in a heartbeat! Hope you had a great weekend at the Con, Jimmy!Jimmy L. 66 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:31 am The jafa is being re-released in a few months with joker and penguin figures. Of the items pictured, only the GH merchandise caught my attention, and I might consider getting the hand props.
Although I'm a big Major Matt Mason fan, if the scale has been reduced to the overused, overpopulated 3 3/4 (Kenner Star Wars) size, then I will pass on this. MMM's original scale was fine for play and producing vehicles and playsets, and this--without a helmet--just seems like digging into the IP grave to squeeze one, last dollar our of the extremely nostalgic among us.

I've seen the Hornet replicas in person and they're genuinely very nicely done, a good weight and finish to them.BATWINGED HORNET wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 9:08 am Of the items pictured, only the GH merchandise caught my attention, and I might consider getting the hand props.
Take a good look around for deals/pricing, those props are the Factory Entertainment offerings that were released quite a few years ago now and as such there's occasionally deals to be had from different vendors.

That should be 'Jada', and robin in the original.Jimmy L. 66 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:31 am The jafa is being re-released in a few months with joker and penguin figures. There is also robin in the passenger seat, I dont remember if he was in the original release.
Re: SDCC 2022
The Ben Cooper sets are really fun-- I don't want to say I'm responsible but Team Cooper is a client of mine and during a conference call two years ago I pushed for them to do costume sets again-- they initially said "You think people would really want those?" To which I said a resounding YES! They did a Captain America and another Marvel hero last year, Star Wars, and Batman, Superman and Flash are out this year-- they'll be Spirit Halloween items and they go about $30ea.
I'm definitely in for a Batman.
Now if I can get them to go with my other idea, Pez Dispensers with actual SCARY Universal Monsters on them instead of the goofy kid friendly ones Pez does every year.
