We have extended our Ten Year Anniversary hours of operation from 10AM until 9PM. Previously we were going to wrap up at 6PM and move locations for the showing of the 1966 Batman movie. The new theater will not be open in time for our event, so we will be showing it at the mall instead.

In addition to the Fiberglass Freaks Ten Year Anniversary Mini-Con, be sure to check out Art on the Avenue in downtown Logansport at the Little Turtle Waterway. Here's the link:

Art on the Avenue runs from 11AM-5PM. Admission is only $2 per adult/$5.00 per family.

More exciting news about our ten year anniversary event on September 14th! Author Matt Yockey will be joining us, too! Matt wrote a book about the Batman TV series that will be released by Wayne State University Press in March. Information about his book can be found here:

Aargh! We were planning on coming to Logansport this weekend, but now we're not going to be able to make it. Darn it! I hope everyone who goes has a great time!
We thought we'd have to teach our son about the world. Turns out we have to teach the world about our son. They see a boy who cannot speak. We see a miracle who doesn't need words.

We had a spectacular time at the Fiberglass Freaks Ten Year Anniversary Mini-Con, with an attendance well beyond my wildest imagination. We had well over 300 people come throughout the day! It was great to catch up with old friends and make plenty of new ones. Here are some pictures that were taken before it got busy. For those that didn't make it, here's a tour:

Outside the event room, the mall staff put together a display using a few supplied items:

After registering to win one of the Hot Wheels Batmobiles, or the free tickets to the Kokomo Comic Con, people stepped inside to see Bat One, the 1966 Batmobile replica we built when I was seventeen:

As you pass Bat One, you see free popcorn and free bat-shaped cookies given away from the Fiberglass Freaks' booth in the background:

Comic book dealers Blue Moon Comics, Comics Cubed, Alter Ego Comics, artist Sterling Clark, Jim Beard, Matt Yockey, and Superman collector James Reigle lined the sides of the room. In the back on the left was the restored Futura in the Woods sculpture made by Marty Martino (from which our original molds came):

And looking to the right, you see one of Fiberglass Freaks' latest 1966 Batmobile replicas:

Panels were hosted by Eisner award winning Daredevil Comic Book writer Mark Waid were well attended, as well as author Jim Beard, author Matt Yockey, author and instructor Christy Blanch, long-time friend Chuck Budreau, and myself.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you that were able to come, and an invitation to all that wanted to but couldn't to come to our shop at any time for a tour.
