1966 Batmobile Bedspread
In case anyone is interested, I have a Batmobile Bedspread that's in immaculate condition for sale on eBay.
My parents bought it for me brand new, back in 1966. They would only let me use it for special occasions, then packed it away for over 40 years.

I was amazed at the beautiful condition it was in! Enjoy!

Boy, you can bundle that with the Batmobile Bed and you've got something.
I bet that goes for a grand or more.

Stunning! I never knew such a thing existed. Thanks for sharing.

That's probably the closest thing I would ever get to owining any type of batmobile that size. I like it! It would be interesting to know if these things are available anywhere else?

I first saw that bedspread a few years ago-- really one of the coolest vintage items done.
The one you have is in beautiful condition you should have no problem selling it. If I hadn't just bought a house and had a twin bed somewhere I'd be all over this.

How is that best cleaned and stored? Will dry cleaning fade the colors as its 50 years old? Best to store in a plastic bag or box?

I'm not an expert at dry cleaning by any means. The bedspread has been in storage for over 40 years. It was stored with other linen and bedspreads. It was washed a few times in a washing machine back in the sixties. No fading at all. I would consult with your local dry cleaner on how to preserve it in the future, though a washing machine seems to be a safe bet. I would also recommend an acid-free box for storage.
