How wonderful that it comes in a display box! I thought it might just have a plain mailer. I will certainly be ordering this. Though I wonder how a folded 12" Batarang will be able to fit into one of the belt 'pouches'. Even TV Batman couldn't do that using a regular pouch! Maybe they will have one of the pouches slit at the bottom and the Batarang will stick out-hopefully this will not be the case. It might also explain the 'rectangle', which might be designed to 'stop' the Batarang on the bottom of the pouch and keep it from sliding out.

After looking at this close-up shot...I'm betting the hole in the batarang is so you can hang it off one of the snaps of pouches....

That rectangle must serve some purpose and I think you are correct that it will somehow lock the batarang in place on the belt somehow. If it is within a pouch, it seems more sense to me that the pouch that houses it should open from the top to prevent losing it by accident if it were to fall out downward. Still can't see it fitting all the way inside a pouch though. Would have to stick out somehow.

The whole thing looks really cool - the belt part has material sewn to it so I imagine it will hold up with wear. The latching in the back looks pretty good but I'm surprised they didn't use velcro instead.

Still a great price.

Looks like they revised the bat to a better shape too. WELL DONE!

The hole in the Bat-A-Rang is for your Bat-Rope.

All in all, it's a great product!

In the Batarang pic above there is a small square or rectangular protrusion just left of the Batrope hole. Wonder what that's for?
In other pics it looks like magnets hold it straight when unfolded.

Dunno yet. Been the topic of discussion elsewhere in this thread. When folded, that rectangle faces outward and does not appear to have any corresponding indentation on the opposite side to suggest possible functionality from there.

So far the best guess is that it will somehow secure it to the belt.

Edit: Just re-read the Mattel product description and it says 4 tubes but picture still shows 2.

Mattel is not always known for accuracy.

Just owner how the shipping is on this item? I am guessing more than 10%

Also, the Batarang is only 12 inches wide...the rep was surprised when I told how UNDERSIZED it was!...
...but even with the smaller size, it will NOT fit inside any pouch! I'd be surprised if the opening is more than 3/8" wide!

The Batarang's center body is rather flat, but I don't recall what the rectangular shape is for...
maybe so it lies flat?...I don't remember!

"and a 12” blue plastic Batarang that folds up neatly to slide right into one of the pouches for hands-free crime fighting."

I think what we are missing is that Matty never says it slides "away" into the pouch. They only mention that it slides into one of the pouches....so I think the wings will slide in and half the body of the batarang will be left hanging out....for easy to reach access of course ;)

Love the graphics on the box, but I have a beautiful Bat-belt and will not spend that money to have an "official version". My two pennies.

Ordered mine yesterday during the early access for subscribers! :D

No one should expect this one to take the place of a Chuck or a Billy Belt by any means, but it is another one for the collection!

Agreed!

Screen accurate belts take a lot of time and specialized tools to make.

For the amount of work and features put into this as well as the professional finished look, this is hard to beat for the price.

For a cosplayer, this is the way to go for a budget friendly belt in my opinion.
