Chuck, thanks for the information. Out of curiosity, which she'll did you use on your five 50th anniversary cowls? Didn't they use this fabric too?

In honor of the fiftieth we had a sale and made our current Limited Edition cowls available for the price of the Deluxe Cosplay cowls.
We added a nice numbered edition tag to mark them but they are essentially the current Limited Edition cowl.

Chuck, thanks for clearing that up. I had read the description of the 50th Anniversary cowl, and the way the fabric fad been described, I thought it was part of the remaining "original" fabric you might have had.

It is the original fabric, just not perfectly flawless original fabric.

I explained in the original post in this thread that the reason we retired the "replica" cowl was that the last batch of fabric that was custom dyed came back slightly flawed and we didn't feel it was top of the line.

A dye house fire destroyed a machine that is needed to get the best results on this fabric.

The Limited Edition cowls (and the 50th cowls) still used the original fabric.

Awww bums, that'll teach me to let real life get in the way of internet browsing - I've been trying to justify picking up a 'limited' cowl and a fully painted bust (loving my deluxe cowl and white bust, but this hobby is becoming more like an addiction!)

For anyone viewing this old, resurrected thread, understand that we still make the Limited Edition cowls in the original fabric!

If the original fabric used on the show is important to you, if you wait too much longer to order, you really will miss out on it !

The biggest differences in the two cowls are construction details that have virtually no effect on the appearance of the cowl but save construction time, which is why the cowl is less expensive than the replica.
