Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!

DC has announced that July 23rd is officially Batman's 75th anniversary. They are giving away free copies of Detective Comics #27 and other big birthday bash stuff happening. The '66 show has been mentioned in the news article as part of the celebration. I don't have any insider info, but I do believe that this will be the day for the official announcement of the 1966 Batman series on home video. July 23rd is also when San Diego Comicon is happening. Week before Thanksgiving allows people to get involved with the Christmas shopping for it. Timing also coincides perfectly to the Convention for announcement since big studios always announce DVD releases four months out from release date pretty much.

Yes, Andy, thanks for the info.

You know what would've been cool? It couldn't have happened as there was no VHS or DVD players back in the '70s, but I would've been over the moon to open up the Christmas catalogue and see the 1966 series for sale in the toy section along with the Mattel figures/vehicle line and even the Megos. Nothing beat the late '60s/'70s for toy advertising and excitement!

The reference was DVD but I think that's become a generic term for home video. I can't imagine a show with this vibrant color wouldn't get blu ray.

A complete TV series soundtrack collection would be nearly as exciting as the series on home video.
