Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
I've had the Adam Viynl Idols figure since it was released but I never found Burt or Yvonne in the wild. Once again, one poorly described eBay listing for Robin and Batgirl later, and I snagged both figures shipped for just a little over the shelf price back in 2015 for one and alas this goofy trifecta is complete.
These are definitely bigger and more fun in person than they appear in photos, for the record, haha!

Nice! My 1/9 Batmobile arrived. It will be the only one Danger Zone Graphics builds in this scale. They have a couple more 1/6, then its over. So a total of 6 Batmobiles in 1/6 scale and 1 in 1/9 scale. The canopies are the major issue.
I did buy a Blue and a Black Mego FTC Batmobile and a Blue Batcycle (Black sold out). These are for my Grandson when he's older and I'll use the 6" figures in the vehicles so their in better scale with those cars. Also have the Batcave I bought some years back

That cowl is gorgeous Lou.
Tip of the cap to Chuck and Lynn, once again.
Cant wait to see that batmobile assembled.

Thanks Jimmy.
According to Chuck, the coloring is the closest to the 66 cowl and reminiscent of the 1968 Animated Batman cowl.
The 70's comic style cowl is my next target with the same shading. That will remind us of the Neal Adams and Ideal Bat Helmet too. Chuck now has the Batgirl cowl too, and he has a Batphone coming. Take my Money!

Excellent. Strikes fear in my heart. Makes me wonder why the original cowl wasn't closer to this design?

A lot of the same comments on social media saying the same thing-- while I think Chuck's take on the cowl is certainly a beaut, I think you can't touch what Jan Kemp did with the original cowl. It's a brilliant artistic version of what Carmine Infantino was drawing in the comics with a costume designer's flair.
The new version is certainly great, but no comparison for me.

Agree - it took me 5 cowls to finally get to Chuck's version. That's when you realize the slight differences in each artist's interpretation. On the other hand, these newer cowls are more 1970's and even 1990's. I had a Keaton Batman costume in 1990 and it was just a furnace - the cowl in particular was very hot. And that's when I waa young and in shape ( I know round is a shape, but you know what I mean). Just doodling around with the black face on these two blue colored cowls really brought out the animated series and comic series of the late 60's and 70's. Both are magical, but recall a different time and media. On some newer news, did you see Chuck's latest installment - Batgirl Cowl. WOW

Furnace indeed-- the ONLY time I've ever suited up was in 1989-- I was invited to a pretty fancy and pretty expensive Halloween party at a legit old castle some 30 miles away on the Atlantic shore-- sat up on a cliff, waves crashing-- perfect place for a Halloween bash.
This was back when I still had a "real" job and I was sick as a dog all day-- could barely stand, was running a fever, etc. I mean really sick. But I had paid for those tickets and the date I had was someone you wanted to be seen with at an event like this so I put on the Keaton suit (this was a full pull of the original not a commercial suit, so it was thick rubber all the way through and even had the Nike sneakers the original suit has) and off I went. It was so hot in there sweat was literally pouring out the front (and only) opening of the cowl-- after about 40 minutes in the suit I'd sweated out the fever and I felt great. The suit was also a huge hit especially with the ladies.
I honestly thought about keeping the costume to wear if I ever got sick again.

I'm just not a costume guy, Larry. The only thing I have is a full Gorilla Suit Mrs Fish bought me for my birthday some years ago. One of my sons liked it so much he bought one too, we put them on for Halloween to give out candy (he comes here because his neighborhood has no kids) and of course, we have something to wear on National Gorilla Suit day.
