Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
As for stuff I have picked up recently-- found this.
Been a lifelong search for one of these and I passed on one I saw in Tokyo last year because I didn't want to hassle with getting it back to the US and have been kicking myself ever since.
This one works!
Got this Batman statue CHEAP-- really love it. Superfriends was my show when I was a kid, and the characters were designed by the late great Alex Toth. Now I need a Robin-- if anyone has one they don't want let me know.
I don't know if I'm the only one who collects old Batman comic books-- but I got this one, which is a nice companion to my beloved Batman #14 from 1943 (the first golden age book I ever saw or bought as a kid).

That red batmobile is one of the coolest toys ever.
It was on the cover of a NEW YORK magazine holiday gift ideas issue in the early eighties.
Little Ricky's Gifts in NYC was listed in that issue as selling them for 12 bucks a pop at the time, and I snagged two !
I love off-model, bootleg-y, other worldly stuff like this.
Nice pick!!!!

Nice!!
I just found mine from when I was a kid. It's not nearly as nice as yours. Almost all the paint has rubbed off. And the box is long gone.

Love that brush. Still have my Avon '74 Superman brush.
Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
Well this arrived today - just trying to find a nice picture of Yvonne holding a batarang to go with it and then I'll get the whole ensemble framed. (Will hopefully get my signed Catwoman belt framed up with the signed pic of Lee Meriwether that turned up today soon too).
It's a shame, but they don't seem to have managed to pester Burt into signing batarangs (yet?)

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
Got another old Batman comic-- I'm stumbling on these everytime I turn around!
And I got a Robin to go with my Batman Superfriends statue.
which is both great and concerning because now I'll be on the hunt for the rest of the Super Friends.

Those vintage comics sure look beautiful.
I put together a big collection of Bat comics when I was younger, but I remember at the time (20 years ago) it was impossible to find anything older than 1960 among the dealers.
It's a little easier today with ebay, and I always consider splashing out on an issue just to own one.
I guess whatever I spend would not be wasted money, because they all retain their value. I'm just converting my ugly pound notes into something much nicer.

With the older books I don't usually put my faith in eBay-- rather I deal with a few longtime dealers or "live" at various comic shows. Too many times vintage comics can be less than their pics show. I did get my Batman #14 off eBay-- but it was CGC'd (which I cracked open) so I knew the condition up front.
This week at Heroes Con I'll be looking for a Batman 2, 5, 7 and 20 (although not likely ALL of them at once).
I also do the Chicago Comic Con in August, and there are a few collectors out that way that often invite us over outside the show to see if there's anything we're interested in along with a nice dinner and tour of their collections.
Despite the scarcity of the older books, you can still get some bargains. This year alone I picked up Batman's 11, 10, 15, 19, 24 and a 42 (first Catwoman cover on Batman) all WELL below guide prices. The continuing bad economy makes it a buyers market right now.

I have had this belt buckle nearly all my life. Has anyone seen it before? I can't seem to find anything about it.
It was manufactured by National Periodical Publications.

Nice items, everyone!
I couldn´t resist and I order the 17 inch Talking Batman. Looks so sweet! Can´t wait to get it at home.
