Yellow Oval wrote: Wed Sep 05, 2012 10:55 am I'm very happy that I just acquired a 1960 Polar Lights Batmobile model kit. I had a lot of trouble trying to find one for the last few years to complete my Polar Lights Bat model collection. I will be painting it in metallic blue and put Bat-logo decals on the doors and trunk to make it closer to the Super Friends / early 80s Batmobile which is my second favorite behind George Barris' classic version. Still debating whether to also paint the large black bat head with yellow eyes on the hood. Great Saturday morning memories of those series especially the last one with Adam West reprising his role as Batman. :)
Kind of like this one?

Holy hourglasses, Lou, that post was from almost 9 years ago! In any event, I built and posted pictures of the Super Friends Batmobile version on the old site back then around 2012-13. I also have the metal version you showed but haven't worked on it yet. I also built the Polar Lights '66 Batmobile, Batplane, Batboat, and Batcycle. I had pictures on my old computer along with photos of my basement collection of almost 3,000+ Batman items and counting, but the computer died and the photos are stuck on the drive. I can't take new photos of anything as mostly everything is now boxed up for an anticipated move in the near future.

Found this guy hiding at the local comic shop today. Had to snag him. This line seems so hard to come by lately.

Nice find! I think Victor faired a little better than the average likeness in this line at that price point.

Does someone do the "R" Robin logo? I had one made from black felt, with a commercial iron-on letter (dyed yellow with diluted Hobbytex paint) on it, in the mid 80s. Due to me using felt, I was never able to wash the vest. It ended up with stain on it, of course, and the felt did not survive getting wet.
Personally I don’t think felt is the good idea after what happened to you, but I don’t know what fabric could fit. I don’t know about Robin, I never got informed about his costume.

Felt, of course, does not fray when cut, so it worked for cosplay.

After creating my Robin costume - and being disappointed with several attempts to do a similarly-sized "Fantastic Four" emblem while avoiding felt - Marvel Comics released numerous designs of round, iron-on, washable character patches, each embroidered around the perimeter with a contrasting colour. They also did a "4" logo, in the perfect size for my Mr Fantastic costume, and I simply covered up their copyright fine-print with a white marker.

So that style of patch would work for Robin. Plain round black, embroidered around the edge with black, with the yellow iron-on or embroidered "R". Maybe I should find someone with a computerized embroidery attachment on their sewing machine?
"Holy nostalgia, Batman!"
