Snagged the glasses off FB Marketplace for $5.
Put this old Batmanians certificate in Paint and made it my own.

If you're not aware, the Walmart Exclusive 80th Anniversary Giant Detective Comics #1 (DANG! That's one long title!) became a very hot book the first week of this year. Apparently there were only 1500 copies distributed and the speculators went CRAZY. I found out about it from a YouTuber I follow and put my $4.99 copy up on Evilbay with a BIN of $125. It was snatched up in less than 15 mins.

Recently I got my hands on another copy through FB Marketplace from a seller who didn't really know what was what. Sent it off to CGC and got it back today. Very happy with the grade (highest of the 5 copies on the CGC census) and the short turn around time (14 calendar days, door to door). Now I'm wondering what this slabbed copy would sell for considering that raw copies have gone for $200 on Evilbay since I sold mine last month.

9.8 is a very desirable grade to collectors-- usually going for 2-3x what a raw copy of the same book goes for. Is FB Marketplace something on Facebook?

Yes, Marketplace is the general selling area on Facebook for anyone with a Facebook account. There are also individualized groups on Facebook that buy and sell within their groups to their members. Individualized groups such as these are tailored by topic (toys, comics, toy company) and also by options available to group members (discussion, buy/sell, show off collections, etc...).

Regretfully, Facebook has become another location to "flip" (buy cheap/ resell high) any product that people are willing to pay for. Currently, comic books are seen more as a stock option with the potential to sell for profit. It has gotten to the point where comic book dealers are preselling comics on Ebay before they are released to the newsstand/local comic book store. Batman #89 (first cameo appearance of Punchline) is a good example of this.

My LCS owner went around to the Walmarts in our area and bought up every copy of the exclusive Detective Comics #1 he could find (which explains why I could only find two - one for me and one for a friend in a dry area). LCS owner sold them at really high prices on Evilbay (he told me this himself). Last Wednesday there were no copies of Batman #89 on the shelves in that LCS. Can't help but wonder if he's pulling the same shenanigans again.

Put the slabbed Detective Comics #1 up on Evilbay and it hit $400 in the first day of the auction. 6 days left and I can't even guess where it will end up. Over 200 views and 9 watchers as of this afternoon. I'm expecting a bidding/sniping war by the end.

First time I've ever speculated on a comic and I can't believe what folks are willing to pay.

Very pleased with these cool H+S “Batman ‘66” enamelled pins. “Sometimes you just can’t get rid of a bomb” Batman is from the movie. The Siamese Human Knot, featuring Batman, Robin and Batgirl, featured in the Season Three episode, “Nora Clavicle and the Ladies’ Crime Club”.

Congrats! I love their pins, they do really fun work. I actually met H&S at San Diego Comic Con a few years ago and they're great folks.

I added some more scripts that I am missing from my collection along with some great buttons courtesy of Troy when he, Alex, Syd and I all hung out in Nashville last week.

As much as "stuff" is great, the friends i've made through a shared love of this TV show and our Message Board means way more to me than any number items ever could.

I got the following back issues this week.

Batman 110 September 1957

Batman 124 June 1959

Batman 140 June 1961

Detective Comics 274 December 1959

The real downside with Batman 140...my consecutive issue run starts with 142, and, due, I guess to the early appearance of the Betty Kane Batgirl, 141 is very pricey. Now, I want to bite the bullet and pick it up. But, I also have 138, so I could push the consecutive issue run back even further if I wanted to pony up and get Betty's first appearance in 139.
