DVD/Blu-ray Sets Already Being Repackaged

Post by Lord Death Man » Mon Oct 20, 2014 1:22 am

An interesting bundle from Warners, including the first couple of individual season sets (1 & 2A), a DVD bundle that looks to package the Batman 1966 movie with a disc of bonus material and Adam West Naked, an episode guide, a "Joker is Wild" film script, and a 'personal' letter from Adam West. Also appears that you can get it in a complete collection version with all 120 episodes that has what appears to be new collector box art that is different from the blu-ray collection.
He flies and fights-BATMAN!
Purity and virtue-BATMAN!
Cowards run away!
Batman saves the day!
Also, Boy Wonder Robin.
Batman and Robin-caped crusaders at night!
BIFF! POW! BAM! BATMAN!

Very interesting indeed. Personally i'm absolutely loving the green "Complete" DVD artwork featured here over any of the other variations we've seen so far. This also appears to be quite an affordable way for people to own the series given an element of the fan-base's backlash to the pricing when pre-orders were announced.

Hmmm... Different to the complete blu ray set that is listed on Amazon. Guess they dropped the mini Batmobile and added the script/extra DVD. A couple of dollars cheaper than Amazon as well...

I am only seeing DVD release of 64 episodes (vs 120). Is there a second page?

Oh, its on the next page. Duh!

If you buy a set, you can get additional sets for 30% off, and special wrapping for $6.00 based on the SDCC Bag (or so it appears). That's when I timed out.

So their servers are down, so I'm not sure it took my order and they gave me a new toll free number to call (not the one on the page). I guess I'll find out later today if it went through.

Does anyone have a list of ALL the special features on the sets (talking the "old rare stuff" mentioned in other threads) and if they're available on both editions?

Opinions on which is the set to get? I had pre-ordered the BR on Amazon when it was announced, but this one piques my curiosity, like to know what y'all think...

Wow-- this kind of thing makes my head hurt.

All right-- so near as I can figure it you can buy the complete DVD series that includes all the episodes, whatever bonus material they have and that's about it. Comes in a purple box as of press-time.
32 page episode guide
120 episodes - 18 discs (although I suspect the show is on 17 discs and the bonus materials is on the 18th disc)
$135 - Amazon

OR you can buy this new offering from Warners in two different formats

1- Complete First Season and most* of second season
64 episodes - 12 discs
Episode guide
Adam West Naked DVD
Original 1966 Movie
Script from THE JOKER IS WILD
"Personal" letter from Adam West to you.
5x $20 (free shipping) total - $100
*seems like it leaves off the last six episodes of the second season.

OR you can buy the complete series from Warners

2- Complete Series
120 episodes - 17 discs
Episode Guide
Adam West Naked DVD
Original 1966 Movie
Script from THE JOKER IS WILD
"Personal" letter from Adam West to you.
5x $30 (free shipping) total - $150

And the BLU RAY is available as an option only on the COMPLETE set for one payment of $175 or five payments of $35

There's also a discount of 30% for every set you order past your first one- so if some of you want to get together you might save a bit of money if you pool your orders. (I'm not interested so don't bother contacting me about it). Maximum order is 10 sets.

Its good to note that these discs are listed as not available in stores and only through BATMANONDVD.COM-- even though they certainly appear to be the same exact single season releases on DVD but with a lot of bonus material.

Me, I'm sticking with the Amazon order. Initially I ordered the Blu Ray but after having seen a side by side comparison of the DVDs to the Blu Rays on my machine I opted to downgrade to the DVD. While they both look great-- with an upscaling player and materials that are 45+ years old the DVDs will suit me just fine. So I'm dropping $135 on the whole set.

If you're interested in the extras, don't already have the movie or want the Adam West Naked commentary then you might want to consider this new package offering.

Anyone know how to attach a pdf - I copied the episode guides for all 120 episodes and can post them here or pm me with your e-mail and I'll send them to you.
Or you can copy and paste them from here:
https://www.batmanondvd.com/episodes.aspx

Its a tough call on Blu Ray or DVD so go for what your wallet can handle, even if its just season one.

again kudos for Warners for doing this. It really helps people on a budget that dont have 180 bucks to drop for the complete series. 5 payments of 35 bucks is affordable..

I doubt the '66 movie is a selling point for anyone here, but it seems to me that if you order the blu-ray set it comes with the DVD version of the '66 movie.

I'm sticking with my Amazon order, but I do like that there are options.

This is probably close to the regular edition, so no UV. Regular edition will probably delete more stuff

So, does anyone know or seen Adam West Naked? Does he talk about all the episodes or only some of them? I have never heard of this. I also wish Batman The Movie was the blu ray if you ordered the blu ray set. Makes no sense to give us the movie on DVD with the blu ray set, especially since the film is already on blu ray and could easily be added by them.
