Advice re NYC

Post by Aussie Batfan » Fri Apr 08, 2016 4:10 pm

Hi everyone,
About to take a VERY LONG journey to NYC shortly, and am trying to visit stores likely to have some 66 merchandise. Can any of my US Batbuddies suggest the best places?
Thanks heaps,
Terry

I know there is a very large Toys R Us right in Times Square that carries a great deal of superhero merchandise. I saw some 66 Batman stuff there in the past.

Thanks Jim for your advice. The only problem might be that I seem to have read somehwere recently that the store just closed :(

The Midtown Comics location near Times Square had a decent selection of 66 merchandise when I was there last August. And yes, the Toys r Us in Times Square recently closed. They didn't have much 66 merch when I was there, though.

Forbidden Planet is always worth a look. Last time I was there, the four Mego-repro "Teen Titans" figures had just come out, although I really only liked the facial decore on the "Kid Flash" in the end, but it was nice to buy a superhero there!
"Holy nostalgia, Batman!"

Jim Hanleys Universe near the Empire State Building is good.
Definitely Toy Tokyo in St marks place. There's a vintage store next door to it.
When are you coming in Terry?

Have a wonderful trip Terry! Maybe some of more local members can hook you up with some more ideas for toy stores etc to check out.

Thanks guys for the well wishes.
I see that the East Coast Comic Con is on at Meadowbanks, apparently with the original Batcopter, Batcycle and a replica Batmobile. Has anyone attended this Con before??

I haven't attended the con, but I saw the props exhibit in Cincy. It's really neat. They let us sit in the Batmobile and Batcopter and were very helpful in giving us a lot of time to take photos (there was a lull in the crowd). I really recommend it.
