Black Leather The Bat Cowl! What might have been!

Post by Chuck Williams »

Hi All,

Well here's the newest cowl we've produced in black leather....The Bat!

With the taller ear and the V shape to the front, kinda looks like a bridge to the Keaton cowls with a touch of Alex Ross!
I just trimmed it in a similar manner as the pilot cowl but since this has the better nose than the pilot cowl it looks more like what , I think, they were going for...

It would have been much harder to make a comedy with this look in the 60's!

Here's the listing...

This looks amazing, I kinda want it. I wish they had used this in '89.

The '43 serial's costume could have really been outstanding with something like this. Great craftsmanship!

Looks like the ears are slightly longer? Will we find this at the Etsy store?

Yes, the ears are longer and yes, it's in the shop! :)

We put it on another head so it doesn't take away from the cowl. Any thoughts about that?
Is it better on the West head?

WOW!!!! Really nice job Chuck! Personally, I think it was a good call to use a different likeness behind the cowl. I REALLY like the look of this, and I agree it could be a step toward the Keaton in cowl evolution. Not really suggestions, but things I would have an interest in seeing if someone was so-inclined with Photoshop; angular eyebrows airbrushed on in greytones to suggest three dimensional shapes on the face plate (or perhaps even cut wedges of foam rubber applied then painted to match the sheen and texture of the leather) and second, the black eye make-up surrounding the actor's eyes that has been part of the live action cowl aesthetic since '89. Heck, I have PLENTY of spare Moebius kit parts laying around, maybe this will light a fire under me to actually PAINT something, LOL! REALLY cool, thanks for posting this! :)

I think it's better showcased on the non Adam head (is that your face Chuck?) because then you focus on the mask details not picture Adam in the burton film.

It's a work of art although I'm sure it must be hot in there. Still, totally rocks.

Now get started on a serial cowl! ;)
