Re: the best batcave playset
Wow, that's a loaded question.
3-3/4" is 1/19 or 1/20 scale (actual scale of Mattel 1/18 scale).
For a pre-fab 1966 TV look, try the ideal playset from the 1960's I think those figures were about that size, so it will work to some degree, but I have not seen it in person. If it is scaled right, it will be the smallest footprint. Some pictures are on the old site at this link.

Muele says scale is for 3.5" figures. http://megomuseum.com/community/showthr ... 66-Batcave
Any of the Kenner variants will be too large as these are designed for 5" and 6" figures, and may not look 1966, but has play value. Frankly I like the Wayne Manor as a prop on top of the cave.
You might try to make one, which can be done for about $20 to $30. I bought one of these a few years ago and it took up a good deal of real estate, particularly in the vertical dimension. The cave walls are spray foam used as filler, and has a tan color. Use LED lighting to create Hues on the cave walls. For about $20 more you may add an electrically operated rotary pad for turning the Batmobile, just chock the wheels to keep it from rolling off. Mine is pictured in the link http://www.66batman.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Y ... 553648/all
See Batcrafts, as one of our bat-fellows, STP, made one. You can use the Factory Entertainment version as a model. Also, Scooter on Pimpmybatmobile.com made a 1/24 scale version several years ago.
You can try the Lego 1966 Batcave as a "Bizzarro" approximation I think those figures are about 2" tall.
You can also wait about a year, and Funko will release one. Just have Dan Greenfield at 13th dimension talk it up. I would expect an Ideal knockoff to keep the price at $75 or below.
Next Spring FTC will release a 1/9 scale version of the 1966 cave.
