Old Bat Watch, Need Help Identifying! Thanks!
Hi Gang!
Picked up this old Bat-Watch at an Estate Sale today.
I have never seen one like it before, can anyone here help identify it or know ANYTHING about it?
Many thanks!

The Early Bird may get the Worm, but it's the SECOND Mouse that gets the CHEESE!

Nothing on the back.
On the face, at the bottom it says in VERY small writing: "JAPAN MOVT"
Back of watchband says: HONG KONG Genuine Leather

It's a fun watch. These are things you've probably already considered, but:
No NPP/DC copyright suggests it's unauthorized.
And the thin case suggests it's battery powered. If so, it's very doubtful it's from the first wave of batmania. Electric watches were still pretty newfangled and pricey in the mid-60s; inexpensive quartz movements didn't become widespread until the 70s.
The design reminds me of the Swatch casual watches that were all the rage in the 80s (though it's clearly not a Swiss-made Swatch). I wonder if it was part of the batmania revival around the 1989 Burton movie?

Hey Jim. Not ignoring your request, just stumped my friend. It is certainly NOT from 66 for reasons pointed out. Most items today, read, "made in China" not Japan, so it could be from the late 70's, but that could be way off. Sorry. You got me lol.
Music. BAT! Music.

I'm a big watch guy-- I've never seen this one before, but I'll second that it looks very much like the influx of watches that came to mimic Swatch in the 80s-- no markings means it's likely an import.
Neat watch.
Neat watch.
