My dream line of batman action figures!

Post by vintagematt »

So I have been fantasizing lately about what I would want in a 66 batman action figure line and have come up with quite a lot and have decided to share it with you guys, so see if you agree or disagree! I decided to make it a line of four inch figures like the one funko did (speaking of funko most of the inspiration came from their line!),since I really think that is a good scale for a big line of figures. So here are my ideas for products:

Action figure wave one!:
Batman-with batarang
Robin-with communicator
Mr.freeze (Otto)-with freeze gun
Joker
King tut-with ancient scroll
Penguin-with umbrella
And the chase figure:joker with utility belt

Wave 2:
Batgirl-with her communicator
Riddler
Egghead-with the little purple egg bomb thingy!
Bookworm-with a book (what else!)
Ma Parker-with a tommy gun
Catwoman (Julie) with bag of loot (from purr-fect crime!)
Cause would be catwoman with a mask

Wave 3:
Pink cowl batman-with magnifying glass
Shame-with pistol
Clock king-with small clock
The siren
Olga queen of Cossacks-with sword
Mad hatter-with a bowler hat

I also came up with some exclusive multi pack ideas:

Catwoman legacy pack:
Includes figures of Julie's catwoman, merriweathers catwoman and kits catwoman, each coming with accessories such as the gold cat statues and the cat gun. It would also include a cardboard backdrop of catwoman's lair!

Alter ego pack:
Includes figures of Bruce Wayne and dick Grayson along with a desk and the batphone and the Shakespeare bust. Also included is a cardboard backdrop of the study

I also have some ideas for a batcave playset:
Working batpoles, a turntable for a batmobile, an atomic pile with lights and sounds, that has a pit to i don't know...throw a custom molly in. It would also include some batcomputers with lights and sounds! Also maybe even a bat-diamond in the corner!

So that's what I came up with, do you agree with my choices or would you do something different? :D

Backdrops (from Internet pics, printed on card from your printer) and little kitties in the right scale are possible. Look out for sets of figural magnetic animals (in stationery stores). There is a great black Hecate around.

Mad Hatter wears a top hat (or a beret or a fez), not a bowler. ;)

I'd be satisfied if they'd just give us Wave 2 of this.

I'm tired of dreaming. Been doing it for 50 years. We had a line going with Mattel and Funko, and I guess it didn't work out. They both did sell out. There's none to be found anywhere but at third party resellers, so that couldn't have been the problem. FTC has the coolest stuff, and it seems to keep coming, it's just a shame they don't do smaller scales in addition to the Mego size stuff

FTC recently announced: "Longtime collectors are sure to remember the original assortment of these figures from the 70’s, and FTC is putting them front and center once again, recreating 8 of your favorite characters for their first assortment. The all star lineup of DC Comics characters includes Batman, Robin, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Shazam!, The Joker, and The Penguin! It’s only fitting that one of the very first series of 3 ¾ figures in toy history has evolved into Figures Toy Company’s first ever figure release in that format, as they continue to revolutionize the toy market with a mixture of classic collectibles based on blasts from the past, as well as the inclusion of so many iconic characters that were never created in the retro style ever before!

"Producing these Comic Action Heroes is no small task, and FTC will release these in early 2019."

So not "Batman '66", but the size you wish for...

Yes, thanks. We were discussing those in another thread. I'm on my phone, so can't find the thread. Can't stand pocket heroes or those bent legged comic Action heroes. I'm sure you can find the thread. If not, I'll dig around and link you guys to later in the day, like tonight. Just got home from work

Pocket Heroes were probably the most hideous action figures ever made. When I saw them I knew Mego was on it’s way out. I have no interest in those less quality than a Happy Meal toy figures. I just want Funko Wave 2. I would love to see FTC release Batman ‘66 in their 12” line though, that would be nice. Hopefully with Julie and Yvonne with non-rooted hair so they don’t look so awful.
