Man, come on! I haven’t even found the Mystery Machine Batmobile yet. Oh well, I have a business trip to Houston next week. No shortage of stores there that have Hot Wheels. I feel pretty certain I’ll find a few there. Plus there’s the grey 2019 design to find also.

Man, that sucks. Keep looking ‘cause they’re out there. I saw several Mystery Machines yesterday at Walmart. The grey ‘66 has pretty much disappeared from the pegs in my area, but the ‘66 is the most popular Batmobile and always goes fast.
Another tip is checking flea markets. The large market in my area has 3 stores dedicated to nothing but Hot Wheels and other die-casts. Lots of newer Batmobiles ranging from $3-$5 each, which seems reasonable if you can’t find one in the stores. Good luck Chums.

Found this on the pegs at Walmart yesterday. Not sure I know what Color Shifters are, but apparently, if you put it in water it changes color or markings appear. On this one I believe red flames appear on the hood. I don’t know if I will put it in water or not, but I wanted it as the 1989 Batmobile is my second favorite Bat ride.

Yes, I’ve been having fun researching Corgi Batmobiles. I also enjoy the Hot Wheels releases. Well....our wives shouldn’t get too mad at us. Hot Wheels, Corgi, diecast cars are a pretty low cost hobby. I’m getting ready to retire soon and can’t believe I want to set up a mega Hot Wheels raceway in my man cave, but I do!tanino008 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 6:32 pm Awesome Find!!!
I love the Corgi and Corgi Junior line.
Try looking for the Husky Batmobile as well, is the first edition and is an incredible piece made in the 60s has a moving flame and comes with Batman and Robin painted.
The peculiar thing that Husky/Corgi made was that they released several versions, almost the same but sometimes certain things change.
For example the first Batmobile made in 1/64 was the Husky line, later when the company change their name to Corgi the re-released it and underneath instead of having the name Husky they added an sticker that saids CORGI JUNIORS and years later they came out with the 3rd and final version called WHIZZWHEELS BATMOBILE, that on the base of the car it did not have Batman but instead they had the name. On the back they added a pin to the Hitch instead of the hole that the other 2 prior editions had.
Years later they came out with the version that you have, the one I love, it was the first one I ever owned.
In the 90s I learned that they made a few of them here in New York and underneath and on the middle they had written NATIONAL PERIODICAL PUBLICATIONS, I remember buying from a famous store that moved to Japan and he was always looking for that particular model.
Great find.

Do you mean no emblems on the doors? I think only the Husky version had door logos, but I could be wrong. I've certainly never seen a Corgi Jr's version with them.
Great purchase though.

I love Detective Comics #27! When the Batman TV show wasn’t on in the 1970s, I ordered the big reprint of Batman’s First Appearance .
Here’s the question: is this THE CAR?
I think it’s pretty close and might look good in my office next to this guy.
I bought him in an old bookstore in NYC back in 2004 on a business trip.

That looks great! I think Kane wanted some remnant of his red Batman, and that car might have been the concession. That’s a great size next to the Hot Wheels 1/18 scale collection.

That’s real close, but the hood is slightly shorter than the 1930s Batmobile. Corgi and Eaglemoss both made a version of this Batmobile.Frenchy1939 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 1:08 am I love Detective Comics #27! That never occurred to me before but it makes sense. It seems Robin may also be a concession to the original red suited bat man with domino mask.
I wonder if anybody ever asked a Bob Kane what the deal was with Batman’s belt looking different on the cover of DC #27 (square buckle)than it did in the actual story (round buckle)? It seems the cover is a slightly evolved version of the Batman in the story.
Regarding the car....I just don’t like the price tag right now...eventually, I’ll probably buy it.

I’ve seen that. It’s awesome, too!
When I get some time one day, I’d like to scratch build a “Bat-Gyro” model. I was thinking about making a mold of one of those Halloween rubber bats and casting a plastic copy....paint it purple or brown, add the propellers and landing gear....voila! Will I actually do it? ...I’m all talk right now. Sounds like an awesome project, though!

I got the 1/50 scale Black Beauty for the 1/50 scale Batcave. Just because it’s in the same scale, sort of... that 1/50 Batmobile is probably 1/55 scale.
Also picked up a 1/50 , a 1/24 and a 1/64 scale Dodge A100 vans. One day I’ll finish them when I learn to make transfers. I found a guy that makes 1/64 scale Batman vans in a package, mostly for the 66Batman Pinball game, but he doubled his prices so put it out of reach for a novelty.
