Great Vintage Find Chuck. Love that it shows the details so Clear.
And no disrespect intended, but to set the record straight, you can find recasting of this statue yet today. Depending on where you find them and how it was treated some details are obscured or not as evident and some still quiet good, some have been weathered for garden use. You can find them in art deco stores and garden supply shops. Walmart even has one in it's catalog.
Again though I love Chucks find, it's vintage and looks fantastic with lots of great detail. Hate me if you want but I had to set the record straight.

Can't tell if this has the same bumps and dents; but it looks similar... maybe it was cast from the same mold as the originals

The original cats weren't on a base.

I'm happy to have the vintage version with the details crisp.
Details I would not have even known about without seeing them in the casting.
The original cats divot in the back isn't just a hollow, it's a crease.

I guess the only thing that peeves me is the term, "set the record straight" as if I had lied about something.

A simple "FYI, modern castings are available" would have sufficed...

Don't worry Chuck, I still have plenty of enthusiasm for the both of us. Cause the statue in the eBay auction doesn't have the crisp details the original cat has, probably from making molds from recasts and losing details. And we all know the quality of your work.
And hearing that the original cats didn't have that big base I can't help but want the same thing then. When you make this available, will it be with or without base?

My Apologizes for the misunderstanding of my post;
First off I have nothing but the GREATEST admiration for Chuck and Lynnes Skills and the quality of their work.
Their dedication to detail and the accuracy of their research along with giving us the screen accurate reproductions any true collector would die to have is second to none. That is why I trust him and Lynne above no one else for the Items that now reside in my Collection and would purchase from no one else.

That being said if you would read my post as intended. I Quoted Szabol : Good Luck with your Ebay searches" I was referencing that quote in setting the record straight. No implication or reference to any of Chucks statements was meant or intentionally implied.
End of story Period.
