If I remember correctly, and there are far more knowledgeable Mobile folks here, but when I saw the #1 car the first time I was amazed at the almost Neon Orange pin striping. Barris told me that was the original color scheme and that it filmed red.

I've heard the Red vs Orange debate so many times over the years, I couldn't count them all. Yes, it originally was orange BUT as Andy pointed out, it filmed red.

I guess it all comes down to what one means by the phrase "screen acurate". To me that means looking like it did when we saw it on the screen. Then again, I guess if we say it should be red than any dipictions of our heroes from the '43 and '49 serials should always be rendered in black and white.

Now I'm totally confused. :-)

Well, that's the deal breaker for me. I'm still hoping some company will produce a true 1:18 scale '66 Batmobile one day. My Hot Wheels version just looks so terribly undersized next to my other TV & movie 1:18 die cast cars.

It is neon red/orange with a white base.
Most horrible color to use, but original.
Anything more than a flashlight will fade it over time.
Gonna pass on this one as many have said , too many that scale or close to it.
Still waiting for the larger scale ones, assisted living is still a few years away so I still have hope they materialize before then.

So back in the dark days of Batmobiles, there was a 1/24 scale kit out of Italy. Several hundred dollars as I recall.
Now there’s this kit

Just got the Jada 1:18 from Amazon. I like it very much, decent value with lights and figures included.

Can you post a pic of the dash, engine and trunk compartment?

Does it happen to fit 3-4 inch action figures...?

The figures it comes with are 3 inch and they look fine. I don't know about sitting any figure in the car, I don't have any to test. A 4 inch figure may look OK if seated or if posed a little bit away from the car.

This video shows the pinstriping in a better light than the one posted earlier in the thread.

All right-- that video did it for me with the figures in and around the car and the lights and all. Just ordered mine.
Thanks!
