What does the bottom of the base look like? Will you make a compartment for electronics, or just a prop like the show version?
This is really a fascinating process, demonstrating your vision in seeing the end product in another bust, then realizing it. Did you sand and fill the front of that shirt? I had to look a couple of times to see the “flowery” material being removed...

Thanks Guys!!
It will be a prop like the original.
Resin and fiberglass.
Right now the base is solid plaster and the shoulders are hollow cast plaster and burlap.
The front frills were sanded off and thankfully there were just a couple of areas that needed filling.
Just waiting for some more epoxy clay to come in to create the front flap.
Right now I'm tightening up the shoulders and front, figuring out the scale of the buttons and closing off the neck.

Very nice, as I've made comments on facebook. Glad I found that dial plate in Lost in Space (back in 2006...the top photos) and then when the blu-rays came out we got a better look at it. Wonder why they put a plate that had graduated markings? its not like the bookshelf opened part way or at different speeds! or maybe it did??

GREAT EYE AP!!!
I didn't see your comments on Facebook. Can you send me a link?
I thought the same thing about the markings. Odd for an "open or close" function.

Well I struck a deal with the artist that made the replica dials and I scored a matching number of vintage knobs...
It's in the final tweaking phase of the sculpture.
Just need to decide if I'm going to do the neck insert as part of the sculpture or keep it as an attachment like the original.
They are starting to look related now!

Wow, almost there, just some button holes, design pattern order the body, and slight widening of the bottom base. Can’t wait to see it “Bronzed”

The button holes are marked! I don't know about the other comments. Design pattern?
The base matches my measurement of the original. It looks a bit different because they sanded quite a bit off the bottom of the base

The green circle shows a possible difference in the edge, but that could be just the angle.
Just brilliant work!
How tall is it? 30”?
