There's a nice rotating gif of a Cherry Red Model 500 phone on this page
https://www.oldphoneworks.com/cherry-red-model-500.html
It looks a lot like the phone in the show... and Northern Electric was licensed to build 500 series to meet demand.

YEP!
The areas where the wording is on the case is made to switch out I think depending on who ordered the batch.
At the back of this phone in 1948 it has ITT...
I do believe it is probably the same body as the first 500 but this Canadian version has smaller round feet and the metal plate is similar but has more holes.
No 500 stamp or model numbers printed on the bottom or inside the case...
The height of the Batphone looks to me like the tall version is the added 1.5" and the height of the rubber feet and the smaller version is the height of the phone plus the filled space where the feet were...

This looks really nice!!! The one thing that looks different to me is there is less bump up to the round dialing dish on that one. On this old phone it's quite pronounced with a deeper looking dish...Lou Szabo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 6:23 am There's a nice rotating gif of a Cherry Red Model 500 phone on this page

Re: Wayne manor Hot line phone
Compared to one of Scott's images, it looks like the "smaller" is the height of the regular phone with the foot space filled in...
That's an interesting and probably correct theory Ben!!
One thing that I need to look at is the area of the push button.
The switch style is different between the two for sure but it looks like the taller phone drops down inside the round ring on the case and the smaller is fairly flush with the circular ring on the case.
Now to confirm if we see the ring area changing is corresponding to the height differences.

Update. The taller phone does appear in "Fine Feathered Finks" in Gordon's Office. The far shot to make the call is the tall one and they insert the "Hi Diddle" shot for the closeup.

OK , I've spotted a taller version with the flush button area and the black button with chrome trim in Wayne Manor at the beginning of Death in Slow Motion...

Re: Wayne manor Hot line phone
The smaller had the red button as opposed the black one of the taller.
Not quite a closeup but a really in focus shot of the switch on the taller. "Instant Freeze"
A closeup but not quite as clear. No large washer at the base of the button. "The Joker Is Wild"
And a nice detail of the back where you can see that wonderful fiberglass. "The Purr-Fect Crime"

Here's are some overlays scaled to match the scaps from the show.
Re: Wayne manor Hot line phone
I'll buy into the Northern Electric model, what a custom base though. That's a tall-boy version.

Re: Wayne manor Hot line phone
The dish of this is smooth which is consistent with the Batphone.
It also shows the finger stop hole in some shots .
There are definitely two styles of circular center sections which says two molds.
One is a raised ring and sunken center section which was the super tall one which is probably raised 2 inches and the second with the flush center section and a couple of different heights but tops out a hair taller than 1.75 inches added to the bottom of the case like my plywood mock up....
I'll be doing the flush center because that was the one it evolved to and the switch is the more finished looking.
