I'm very sorry for those folks who have lost their jobs in all of this but I think the majority of spectators saw this coming. Warner Merchandising has been taking a bigger and bigger role on a day to day level by the sounds of things and I totally understand on a corporate level why there is an undeinable logic and practicality to absorbing the DC Direct offerings into the broader WB merchandising-sphere given that a vast quantity of their TV and Movie IP's capable of making money outside of Harry Potter are ultimately from the DC stable.

Doubtful. I see AT&T licensing the characters to other publishers possibly.

Wait a minute...that's quite the leap, is it not? Or am I missing something? The news story Keith posted is about WB bringing the DC Direct merchandising and simply doing it in-house. DC as an entity is not for sale at the time of writing this.

Yep, just consolidating Consumer Products under the WB banner.
It will end duplication of positions and factory contacts.
DC product was getting starved out over the last few years and was dying on the vine...
Quick, Everyone, Flee for your lives, into the street!!!!
