New lego batmobile

Post by schwing186 »

Just ran across this. Seems like it might be nice for those of us who just wanted the batmobile when the classic tv series batcave was sold. https://www.thebrickfan.com/new-lego-d ... -retailer/

Definitely buying this, although I wish they would have added a new villain from the show. Makes sense to include Joker but an extra incentive for those of us who bought the Batcave set would have been great.

I have the original Wayne Manor with the Batmobile. I'm curious as to if there are any differences between the two. I'll check mine when I get home.

(If nothing else, if this sells well it might encourage Lego to release more Batman '66 stuff!)

There are definitely some differences: the new one has headlights, there are fewer exposed studs on the top surface, 3 fireworks launchers instead of 2, and no label for the emergency bat-turn lever! It looks like the sides are built using tiles instead of bricks, so it should be a pretty different build experience.

And it looks like both figures have slightly different expressions on their faces but it's hard to be sure.

Incredibly cool that we're getting this as a standalone after all this time!

Interesting that the set comes with Joker instead of the Boy Wonder
Begorra!

Nice job Tyson, I left the rocket launchers off the hood as well. The figures are slightly different than the ones that came with the Batcave. Faces and paint jobs, originals are better, imo.
This Batmobile is better, the k8nor changes do improve the overall look. I will post some comparison pics when I get a chance.

I wonder if the lack of robin means that they'll likely include him in another set coming soon. Hopefully one with some new characters. Or maybe it was just because it's cheaper to include merely Batman?

I think it's literally just to have the hero+villain scenario for better play value.
