Not saying that's a bad thing. I can imagine Lou's grandson going to school for the first time and explaining that his Grandpa is Batman.

It inspired me to compare the two - almost at the start of the thread!

The Marx cowl got more right than I knew when I was a kid!
The thing I didn't care for was the uptilt to the nose but considering who was probably doing the product approvals and art direction back then, it all makes sense.

Chuck, What color blue is the Ideal Helmet - just wonder if you were or are tempted to add eyebrows?

Hey, that looks cool! No clue what the color number is on those Lou.
I didn't get one until just a few years ago. Couldn't have one when I was a kid so I wouldn't dream of tampering with it.
It's just fine the way it is to me.

Yep, it seems Lynne and I are constantly in "Purge" mode.
We really don't collect anything but somehow there is always more stuff that needs to go!

The Ideal BATMAN Mask is probably second only to my Captain Action Batman in terms of things I will never sell. Never say never you say? NEVER. I was a few years out from being able to buy one of these-- never saw one until I was 14 at a flea market buying old comic books-- guy had one behind the table and I had no idea what it was. He showed it to me and I asked if it was for sale.

"yeah, gimme a buck for it."

It was dead mint condition too- I got the dollar out so fast I'm sure he figured he underpriced it, but this was probably 1980 so at that time it wasn't that old.

Love the thing to death. If I had to buy another one I'd gladly pay $500 if it was mint and have no regrets at all.

My wife is so fervent about thinning everything, I thrice took myself out of the trash in 2018.
I tried to save a paper mache bunny my daughter made, and saved it twice, but the trash master got him....
