I got the set to see if I can pull off some cabana wear for a Tiki Con later this month.
They have a lot of Batman and other cool designs.
Judging by the variety of designs My guess is that they are sublimated onto the clothes.

What does “sublimated” mean in this context? Is it durable?

Very durable! The ink is chemically bonded to the fabric with heat and becomes part of the material.. This will be a polyester blend fabric for this process and will be silky and shiny in appearance. Any shirt or swim trunk with a wrap around print like this example is done in the same process.

I just wore my Kohl’s Batman Hawaiian shirt for the first time. No one noticed Batman on it until I pointed it out. These are too fun...

The Shirt -
is very low quality and doubt it would survive more than a few warshings. Loose threads around buttons. it is similar to somethingyou might receive at a ball game on free jersey night. I suspect that helps the color permeate the material better during the sublimation process (fancy way to say iron on).
I followed the guide size on their site and got a large, It could be longer but fits nice every where else. up size would be like pajamas- for me.
Shorts-
also very low quality. I expected something closer boardshorts, but these are more like a mesh athletic short. using the size chart I got a large, I should have gotten the XL, I may just return or order the bigger ones. the size chart said 42" for L, but didn't mention all the elastic in the waist.
All these complaints and I still love them. I am headed to Tiki Oasis (Tiki Convention) on Friday so they arrived just in time!

Notes: it does seam to be someone's original art.
Shorts are not screen accurate and Batman has nipples, Shumacher is not to blame for this however.
Image is reversed in mirror.

For the price it's ok, but like I said I love it.
