Maybe the third time is the charm. I wish them good luck.
Love to see a Mego/FTC scale Batmobile with some level of accuracy after 50 years!

This is interesting. What happened the first two times? I presume cancelled, but what happened? I don't know the history. A buddy of mine is building Eaglemoss' 1701-D from Star Trek-The Next Generation and seems pleased.

The Batmobile has a very loyal and vocal fan base, and a number of experts. A number of people, myself included, questioned the dimensions, Bat hubs, and other parameters. They ended up cancelling the first two attempts. Let’s hope this one sticks.
When you add it up, the cost is pretty high. I think the AM DB5 was about $2000 when completed. That’s the James Bond car.
. But who doesn’t want a Mego sized Batmobile, as a Die-cast, resin or plastic car. Figure $16 * 31 =~$500

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Do you see any improvement in the dimensions, Bat hubs, and other parameters? Did Eaglemoss bring-in appropriate experts this time?

At $500 I'd be in. Thanks for the heads up, Lou.

Love the idea, not so in love with the idea that it's Eaglemoss who are supposedly doing it...again.
As you said Lou, third time may well be the charm. Maybe?

Ok so, am I reading the promo text correctly? The complete Batmobile will require 120 “sets”, 4 sets are shipped per month, and each set costs $12.90…so this Batmobile will cost approximately $1550 and take about 2 and a half years to build? I don’t see how this is an attractive option. Please tell me I’m interpreting this incorrectly…

Don't forget to add in shipping. It takes it to around 1,800$.Rayray wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 6:03 pm Ok so, am I reading the promo text correctly? It would be exciting to build and get the new pieces in each month but dang.

They should just sell it outright.

There was a fellow who went by the Moniker of "Dark Lord 1965" on the Mego Museum who, when last heard from, was working up a accurate 3-D Printed 1966 Batmobile. I haven't heard or seen him lately on any of the sites. I've tried to contact him, but no luck. I'd love to see what He's gotten done. Maybe someone else might have better luck getting hold of him.

I agree. It's nice and would be a hoot to build, but for almost 2 grand U.S.? Let's put it this way. This morning I gassed up my car. It was only for 1/2 a tank but $45.00 CAN??? Money for collectibles isn't anywhere near what it used to be.rsaffle wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:07 pmDon't forget to add in shipping. Indeed! I know there's a lot of folks in these parts who are really excited about their pre-orders of this one. There's an ongoing thread with some of those discussions here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7695&start=45zarm106 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 2:54 pm Has anyone seen this version of the batmobile?
