From Lynne;
For your discussion... Grainline is essentially the weave of the fabric: which direction the threads are running. It's important to understand because how you cut out a garment will change how the finished garment behaves.
My avatar is the Movie, flopped center section of the cowl cover.
The left side of the nose lights up and comes to a sharp point at the tip.
On the first season cowl cover, light catches the rounded edge of the nose.

Yeah! Grainline, like Chuck said! Amazing what a difference little things like this make.

I went with First Season, standard ears (versus extended). From Chuck’s picture, that’s how I pictured it in my mind’s eye.
I wonder what the ratio was in Chuck’s sales, movie vs First season.

About 70% first season and 30% Movie, Lou.
Less than half of the First season cowls went with the extended ear.

Love those traditionalists! by the way, thanks for shipping the new cowl. The color was the hardest choice.

My fourth cowl since starting down this road and I finally had the guts to go extended ear like my favorite cowl (The Purrfect Crime). I LOVE IT!!

I think that's the Purr-fect cowl. I wonder how many of us cemented our vision of Batman back in the day because of the repeated viewings of the View Master reels? Remember kids, us old folks didn't have VHS or DVD to watch whenever we wanted so View Masters were often the go to when you wanted to spend time with your favorite show.

I sure remember the viewmasters sets. I inherited a large number of "travelogue" type reals as well as saving up my allowance and getting ones like Batman, Lost In Space, Man from U.N.C.L.E., Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. I'm not even sure that One can get any new ones anymore.

Viewmaster is still with us-- they offer a lot of nature type photography and kids programming. I don't know how well they're doing.
I think my favorite set was The Flintstones, because they used stop motion looking puppets for that one. I think Charlie Brown might have done the same thing too.

View-Master was so innovative when it replaced cel animation (or tried to replicate it) with miniatures / figures. I believe they used this process on a number of early Hanna-Barbera subjects (including Tom & Jerry), and Snoopy vs. The Red Baron.

Scott's cowl looks great, and there's nothing like the cowl when the colors are rich (unlike those used on the series after the wear and tear of production, deep into a season).
