I received notice about that today too!

Anyone know about this Paragon FX Group? I have never heard of them before.

Spendy, Indeed, Lou!!!!!!! I don't know why, but it seems to me that some of their dimensions are off compared to the ones that Folks on this board have made. If I didn't have the ability for what ever reason, I couldn't make my own copy of the radio, I'd rather E-mail privately some of the members or talk to CYProd about getting one made. ( If I messed up by mentioning CY, I apologize).
What I'm getting at is that there are other ways of getting this particular prop.

I got this ad as well. I don't see anything that justifies the price. If this was from the Wand company it would be an actual radio with Bluetooth for that price.

I bought a CY version for about 1/3 that price a few years ago.

Looks like they are doing the Batshield too, but Alex’ shield is way more accurate

The shield came up here a few months ago when it was announced: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8246&p=78793&hilit=shield#p78793

From what I can tell they are a very new company and i'm not sure whether any of their products have actually been released as yet.

I am always happy that 66 Batman stuff is still being made but this says, "Paragon's staff spent months studying the history of the original props to ensure that the replica you have before you becomes a cherished part of your personal collection." I'm not sure what that actually means because they are off on the proportions of this product.

I have made one myself that I haven't posted yet and studied the original for some time. There are great images available of this actual prop so there is no reason this should be inaccurate. For me the fun part of prop making or buying for that matter is matching the original prop as close as possible.

I just watched this episode, GIVE 'EM THE AXE (S1, EP24), on MeTV and Batman was using this device. Around the 15-minute mark of the episode Batman has it in his hand. It is during the day and an outdoor scene. When the sun shines on it, it looks more like a dark metallic blue, not black.

If I were to buy one of these instead of making it myself, I'd MUCH rather buy one from a member of our group here. Why? because even if it were the same price as this new company, A.) I know it will BE ACCURATE and 2.) my money will go to help our fellow member! Imho, those are reason enough!

I think the price on this is ridiculous but that’s just my opinion it’s not even accurate

I agree with Randy, the dimensions are definitely off amongst other things. I think once we see this in someones hand, it will be pretty darn obvious that the proportions are out of whack.

This is one of those scenarios where the big talk of research and accuracy etc (presumably to somewhat justify the price point) is getting in the way of the sheer fact it's cool that a company has pursued making this item available, but you can't have it both ways. People bought and loved the Mattel Cowl and Belt because they were fun items in a toy price bracket and importantly, Mattel did not spin any yarn about painstaking Williams Studio level research. As a manufacturer, you can't have it both ways. If you say the things, you've got to put your money where your mouth is. Spend more than 20mins online looking into the Bat-Communicator and it becomes evident that Clint Young literally cast his radios from an original prop... Paragon's initial R&D needed not cost them anymore than the going rate from Clint as a starting point.
