Figure looks great -- I love the color of the suit.
I have no evidence but it looks like they used Howard's sculpt-- the proof will be in what their finished "Crime Fighting Duo" or whatever generic term they'll use for Batman and Robin look like. I don't think these folks have actually ever sculpted anything themselves.
But back to the figure-- it looks like a home run, it's a shame Howard never put his into production.

I think we clarified this in the other thread, but again for the sake of the dialogue here, it was a different company who were planning on releasing the 1/6th Batman and Robin. That has now gone away due to the rightful cease and desist that Hot Toys imposed, given that they were clearly re-casts.AndyFish wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 6:52 am Figure looks great -- I love the color of the suit.

Looking at them side by side, I do not think personally that Mars Toys have used the Hot Toys sculpt, the orbital bone, neck/jowel, hairline and hairstyle all appear to be different. If they did use it as a base, then a lot of reworking took place for sure, given that Mars Toys have done multiple heads with variations on the expressions you can choose from.
As for the generalistaion that they've never scuplted anything from scratch... Within their '66 line (the only one i've paid any attention to) they are currently have Frank and Burgess in process, two sculpts that Hot Toys (to my knowledge) never got to.

Perhaps they will follow the route Jazzinc took, and have the balance licensed. As far as Batman and Robin, I have my HT figures for in vehicle, and stand alone.

Thanks for the clarification Ben, my remark that they've never sculpted anything is based solely on the other figures they have up for sale, many of which are clearly Medicom or the like recasts. The pics you show look great. If I was more into dolls I'd probably bit the bullet and get a Joker.

Ben, I've seen the repro HT Batman & Robin still up for pre-orders on various sites (and from a few eBay sellers), except for Toys Wonderland, which recently removed it from their site. I wonder if a large number of people sank money into this?Ben Bentley wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 1:16 pm

I think Toys Wonderland is no longer affiliated/selling Mars Toys products.

Mars has Jim Carrey Riddler available now.
I’m looking at this bad boy now: The Dark Knight returns
He makes a Royal Blue version and the Classic Black and Gray in clean and battle damaged, and an armored version too.

I've always been partial to the light blue costume he wore in book one. Hard to get the Dark Knight figures to look right, he did a really good job here. Some of the in hand photos available on the internet hold up, since sometimes lighting does a lot with some of these.

PSA:
The Prank Villain has been so popular that Mars Toys are to do a reissue run. For those wanting to get in on the pre-order for the second run of this figure, the cut-off date is 26th April for a Q3 release.
