Does anyone here know of any craftspeople that make reproduction boxes for the 1966 Gilbert Batman Action Watch?

There was once a seller on Etsy who was doing vintage Batman packaging reproduction, he did the Ideal Batman Cowl Box, the Utility Belt Box, the UK Tops Box- all kinds of great stuff. I picked up a header card and face insert for the cowl and they were top notch. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have anything listed right now and I've long since lost the seller's name. Your best bet might be to just search for Batman Vintage Box Reproduction from time to time to see if he lists again.

The Toyroom on eBay might tackle it too-- he does have listings over there and you can find him by searching for his seller name or look for Repro Mego Boxes and he comes up quite prominently.

This site sells reproduction boxes, including Gilbert, but:

1. The Batman action watch box is not listed (but with those reference photos, I’m sure they can be made easily), and;

2. Per the site, the owner is currently “taking a break” but will be back “as soon as possible.”

Still, it might be worth an inquiry.

I could replicate much of it, but the lid would be the tough part, especially the beveled edges. I would think someone would need an original to vacuum form over. Maybe could cut a wood block to use as the shape to mold from but even then, it wouldn't be as sturdy as the original.

It's a shame that 3D printing clear is so hard to do but technology will get there eventually.

It looks to be the same size and style as the Gilbert James Bond watch insert and the case. You might get lucky enough to find someone selling just in the case.

Also, the Gilbert Bronco western watch used the same box. Unfortunately, it also sells for several hundred dollars, when you can find one, it seems. But, keep your eyes peeled for someone with an incomplete set that you can snag for a reasonable price.

There’s also a G.I. Joe Gilbert watch, but they are even more expensive. Still, using the same case.

There may be other similar watches that use the same case. Just keep looking.

I did find this one for sale in the UK, but it is still about $200 US. Still, to get a box that would work with your Batman watch, it might be worth it. And, you can always sell the watch itself to recoup some or maybe even all of your money.
