“Take THAT!!! You RAT...” Vintage “Batman” sweatshirt (I had one) on eBay.

This was my favorite sweatshirt, or shirt of any kind, when I was five years old. Never forgot it. Someone has one on eBay. It is only the second one I have seen since my childhood. Had to share the listing in case there were others like me who wore one or remember it.

(I never understood the punctuation use, but my 5 year old self didn’t care as much about those things. I do remember wondering why he had a “B” in a circle on his chest, instead of a bat emblem.)

Found a couple of photos. One was a picture of another sweatshirt I saw on eBay a few years ago. It depicts the entire image. The other was 5 year old ME (well, part of me) blowing out my birthday cake candles while wearing the sweatshirt at my birthday party.

NOTE: I am wearing a blue pillowcase as my Batman cape!

Well, Randy, believe it or not the first words out of my mouth when I saw it were, appropriately: “Holy on the money!”

Truly fantastic! But, of course it is!

Made me smile so big I could have given Jack Nicholson a run for the money as the Joker.

This is incredibly kind and thoughtful of you, and it’s appreciated and, God willing, it WILL be put to good use. I told my son that I’m going to have sweatshirts made up for everyone attending my birthday (and I will tell my friends who re-created this design). Then, I plan to safety pin a blue pillowcase around my neck and blow out the candles on my birthday cake while wearing this sweatshirt, recreating my childhood birthday photo.

I wish the world could be like the genuinely good people on this forum. We’d have many more smiles.

You guys are always very kind and supportive. I get much more from the members here than I could ever return. I know it’s because we all relate to each other and the love of Batman. I know how excited I become when I read these forums and that makes me want to add to it all. Most of us had the towel or pillowcase tied around our neck too.

I can’t wait to see the birthday photo recreated!!! I made the word bubble look like the photo but I can straighten it out if you would prefer.

Awesome work! I think the speech bubble looks "bent" on the photo due to the v-neck collar, so it was probably straight in the drawing.
