Ken, no, Captain Action as TV's Batman

Post by Brian M »

My weekend project. I finally broke down and bought a Ken Batman for the costume. I think the Cap looks good.

Pictures! We need pictures!

I've been dying to see if this would work, but haven't been brave enough to spend the money to try it myself.

Looks great. Why wait for a 70 dollar figure when you can have your own for 1/2 that, with packaging.

Fantastic! You had to modify the gloves, get new boots-- anything else? Did the cowl fit? How about the belt-- Ken has a notoriously Barbie like waist.

The cowl and belt both fit. I had to cut the ends off the gloves, then paint his hands. The boots were too small so I painted a pair of CA Superman boots. The costume does take some wiggling to get on, but I really like the look.

How about the figure? Is that a vintage, PM or modern Cap?

Does anyone know of another 12 inch figure that might fit the Ken costume better than CA?
The CA chest just looks a bit too 'barrelled' for my image of Adam...

I would probably go with a modern Capt. Action as I am always looking to save a few bucks for more Batman stuff ;)

Thanks to John I got the deal at Target, I was planning on passing on this but I have to say it was impressive in person.
Took it home and put it on a 12" figure from Japan that was more pose able than Cap but the costume is so tight posing is not really a issue so I may try it again on one of the new cap figures. I'm happy with it, pics when I get a chance. The figure it's on now looks a lot like the Mugsy character who dressed up as Batman in a Riddler episode.

The costume quality is pretty good. The belt is tight but it fits.

Would try the new CA as he is a bit more stockier than the vintage version and relatively inexpensive.

Won't fit on the new Cap, his shoulders are way too broad and the suit is already tight on the original. I switched mine back over to a vintage cap since I liked the way the cowl fit better.
Pics soon, cleaning out the studio and things are a mess.
