What's almost as big as a breadbox???

Post by Chuck Williams »

The Bat-A-Rang compartment!!!

All metal. I just need to rivet the belt loop and the strap closure on and it will be ready to finish.

Making this for a friend. Another project that I've wanted to do for a while...

Now THAT'S a riddle! LOL! Did they just paint the metal or did they wrap it also in leather??? Just curious if you know! That pouch looks awesome!!! :D It is also what I had in my head when I ordered one back in 1996...but when I received it....it was NOTHING like this! You do such amazing work! This is totally amazing!!! Congrats!!! Are you sure you didn't work on the show?????? :?:

Thanks Guys!!! :)

It was just painted metal. Most the early "working" boxes were metal. Those giant lunchbox sized ones I mean.

There were others like this that were metal bodies with leather flap closures and one or two that were all leather pouches.

Thanks again!!

Absolutely jaw-dropping! Looks like you not only knocked it out of the park...you tore the horsehide off of it!!!

Would REALLY love to see pics of it when it's finished!

Excellent! Nice to see a build in progress. I've been wanting to do one of those for my Bat-A-Rang as well.

Chuck, yours looks much nicer than the one I made out of plastic in 2000. You're right about the need to be large--that thing was/is nearly 3 inches deep!

Thanks Guys!!! :D

Here it is with the bare metal primer. Still have much to do but I have a couple of sculptures to get to first...

Yeah Mark, the size cracks me up! This box is a bit over 2" thick to accommodate a Clint Young Bat-A-Rang owned by my friend.

I've never seen one in person before this. They are freakin' huge!!

I have a Robin Bat-A-Rang from the 80's I got in L.A. but couldn't track down it's folding relative.

I may have to get one!

I actually found what I ordered back in 1996. Love your additions and workmanship that you put into EVERYTHING! No detail is overlooked. Are you SURE you didn't work on the show?????
