First Season Utility Belt
Hi All,
Thought I would kick off the new board with my new First Season Utility Belt!
Not a true replica because I used my found brass receiver instead of the custom one.
It's leather, wood, elastic and brass with metal tubes.
Like the original it is not adjustable. The elastic is sewn on both ends.
It makes for a very comfortable and lightweight belt but you need to keep on your diet or you'll out grow it!

Re: First Season Utility Belt
These are the leather pouches which were thinner than the wood blocks. Since this was made from the pattern set that Chuck and Lynne sell, I doubt he'll divulge exact measurements here.drucevain wrote:Chuck great to see you and your amazing crafts here on the new board quick question, what is the thickness of the pouches ?, its just they look quite slim to me
Here's a pic of me wearing the original Hardeman belt from which this one is replicating. Yep, it's got those thinner leather pouches.

Re: First Season Utility Belt
Hey Ken,
Scott's correct. They are the same thickness as Marks original belt.
Attached is a photo of them unpainted.
As thin as they are, when it's all put together it still screams "UTILITY BELT" to me.
I've had the desire to make a belt as close as practical to the originals to get that same feel.
I'm planning on one with just painted wood for my "Stunt" belt and a nicer leather covered wood block version of the classic square tabbed belt seen most often on the show.

Re: First Season Utility Belt
Thanks Scott, loving the new site feels just like home i like the look of the slimmer pouches and i have got Chuck and Lynnes pattern set,so will take a look.
i do find the belt i have a little bulky when moving around and i just think it would be a much cleaner look for photographs and also when i'm bat walking up the sides of buildings

Thanks Chuck, i really do like the look of the slimmer style pouches think it would make moving about a lot easier, it may just be me but i find my belt a little heavy and cumbersome always feel like i'm forever making sure its in the right place !

Re: First Season Utility Belt
My pleasure Ken!
Yep, check your pattern. All the measurements are there.
This is the lightest belt I've ever made and it feels great when worn.
I agree, with the other belts I'm always feeling like i have to wrestle with them.
The velcro on the front of the trunks would be all you need to keep this one in place.

Oh so true Ben i have the velcro but when you have your arms around a pair of catwomen as in my avatar and my bat pouches were full of my crime fighting weapons the belt just wants to head south
i'll stand at the bar i shouldn't wish to attract attention !
