As always the piece just looks great. I love the scale of it - the shots of the room puts the size into prespective.
I eagerly await the next instalment!
Take care,
Terry
Thanks Terry I hope to get this part finished before it gets too cold to work downstairs.

Well it's time for the weekly update although I felt like I was in one of those "Tune in next week" to see if I escaped type trap! It gets cold in my basement and I may not get to work on the project as much as I have been in fact I may catch a cold from this weeks update but I hope not!
Enough of my whining on to the update.

Here you see the process I used to turn a piece of "I" Beam into a hand hold for the railings.
First cut to size stip off the two protruding pieces I don't need file and notch then glue in place.
I only have to make about 70 of these! 40 for the inner railings 20 for the top and 20 for the bottom.
Then about 30 more for the outer railings top and bottom.

But the results are worth it as shown in the next photos.

Here we see my progress on the left side panel on the second catwalk.
This has been a real challenge to make and I still am not sure how I will make the knife switches for this panel.
But I have an idea that might work.
Nothing has been glued down yet so some items may not be straight

I made the dial faces in Microsoft paint and attached them to styrene.

That's all for this week!

Well guys here is this weeks update quite a lot of work has been completed as shown in the photos below.
The middle section railings are completed both top and bottom.

The top part railings were made just like the middle section. Here is a shot of the last section before adding the cross member rails and the hand holds.

Image

Here is another shot of the completed section now I just need to make 20 hand holds man is that time consuming!

Image

The sections have now had the hand holds added and have been removed for painting.

Image

Here are the railing sections mounted on a rack I made for painting.

The next set of photos are of the sections painted and installed.
