My Batman mannequin & trio

Post by danbar »

Well, I think my Adam West Batman mannequin has come along far enough now to unveil him. There are still a couple of things I want to do, including getting a more accurate pair of gloves and upgrading the belt. The buckle is beautiful and comes from Williams Studio 2. I decided to make the rest of the belt myself in the style that I always picture in my head, pouches snapping from the top. But I realize now that it is not the most iconic style of pouch, and my belt could have turned out better. But all in all, I am very happy.
My terrific trio have been more than a year in the making. I started with the Styrofoam Adam West bust from Chuck Williams, painted it, and then replaced my mannequin's head with it. I'm very happy with the paint job, although it is hard to screw up that incredible likeness sculpted by Chuck. I have a couple shots of the painted bust before putting it atop the mannequin. Here's a couple shots also of the Dynamic Duo and Terrific Trio. As I mentioned in the "My Robin Mannequin" post, I have a bit of tweaking yet to do on Robin. But here is how they look at the moment.
Batman's cowl, cape, trunks, buckle, and chest insignia are from the wonderful Chuck & Lynne Williams. Boots from Duran. I purchased and dyed my own tights and made the belt. Gloves from a local seamstress.
Hope you enjoy seeing the results of my year+ long project. I sure have had fun putting it together. Julie Newmar Catwoman is in the works currently!
*4/25/15 Robin got a new wig and new trunks, so attached updated pics.*
