Cowl Idea
Has any one done (or thought of) making a cowl with the eyes in reverse like on the top of the header, or intro cartoon of the show? Where the straight section would be on the top and the curved part would be on the bottom. I don't photoshop, but i'm guessing it would be interesting...

YES. That's what I meant. I think that would make a very cool cowl. They had variations of cowl shapes and eyebrow and nose paint jobs, why not different eye pattern. Thanks batfanman.

I think the producers decided to go with the look they did because it best matched the comic style (at least up until Carmine Infantino drew the eyes as depicted above.) It's also a less threatening look that had greater appeal to the target audience of the day.
