Post by slybatman »

Hi Gang,

Im just wondering if anyone had any measurements or had seen just how thick the bat cuffs actually were?
I have 2 versions Im working on a 6mm thick and a 12mm thick version that Im currently working on but not sure which way to go?

I would go with the measurements off of real handcuffs. The shape is more like leg shackles though as far as the inside hole goes.

Go with 6 mm. I have a set, and they are about 1/4" or 6mm. Are you 3D printing them or making them from metal? Search in crafts, there are some reference photos.

Im actually making the prototype from wood. Yeah I think the 6mm is the way to go. It's just hard from some of the reference pics to see the exact thickness. Thanks 😀

I would still go with 3/8ths to 1/2 inch. 1/4 is way to thin in my opinion.
Here some photos of the real cuffs with Batman holding them and with them on
the Riddlers arm. They look much thicker then 1/4 inch. Just my
opinion though.

These are looking very nice! What is your plan for closing (locking) them? Does anyone know if the original prop cuffs were kept closed magnetically? Or was there some kind of clasp?

Neodymium magnets would be good for these.
