Even if you're trying to assemble a costume by buying or acquiring different crafted items rather than constructing or customizing them yourself, then it belongs in the MERCHANDISE SECTION. I bought a Mattel cowl and utility belt, and thought "hey, why not make the rest?!" So I started googling and came across this forum, and found all sorts of useful tips and information! Ended up with the Williams patterns, enlisted a lot of help in sewing the cape and trunks (I had never sewn anything before), nobody wanted to do the gloves though so I ended up leaning to sew and did them myself (mostly, except the fins)! Anyway, went to Seattle's Emerald City Comic-Con this weekend and everyone seemed to love the costume!
I also made Shark Repellent, the people at the Con loved it!
So here are a few pics from the con! I know it's not screen accurate, but I had a lot of fun doing it and I'm sure I'll improve it as time goes by. Thanks to everyone for posting great and useful information!
You should be very proud of your efforts. I am sure many here will tell you, putting this suit together is not the easiest thing to do. You did a excellent job! Wear it well my friend and have fun. My experience has been..more people have taken pics of me in my 66 suit than ever did in my Keaton suit. Well done!

Sure, I got the boots from ezcosplay.com, $58 including shipping. They make the boots individually to your measurements. I was worried about how they would fit, but they did a fantastic job and they're probably the most comfortable boots I've ever owned!
I would have preferred them a little darker, other than that I absolutely love them!
An old convention pal just sent me this pic from March 1984: I am joined by Catwoman, a Starfleet officer and Wonder Woman after the costume parade at Medtrek II convention in Sydney, Australia. My mother did the sewing on my Robin costume at my direction.

Here in Sydney, in the 80s and 90s, we had a specialist glove shop in a shopping mall (under Sydney Tower). Every colour and every style you can imagine. Over the years, I bought ladies' long-length satin gloves there for me, and friends, including green (Robin), navy (Batman), purple (Batgirl), yellow (Flash), numerous light blue (Andorians) and white (Fantastic Four). We never got around to adding fins to the Batgloves. No one seemed to notice.
Your suit came out great - good job! You can put some Velcro on the backside of the utility belt buckle & in the corresponding location of the trunks to keep the belt firmly in place if you like. Put the soft part of the Velcro on the trunks.
I ordered a pair of those boots, got them inside of 2 weeks and they are fantastic quality. Just an FYI, if anyone uses the size chart on their website, note that there looks to be errors in it so use a reliable inch converter or metric tape measure to verify your own measurements to ensure proper sizing.
