Batgirl cowl scan!!!

Post by Chuck Williams » Mon Oct 08, 2018 2:22 pm

Hi All,

Equal time was paid in scanning Yvonne's #1 Batgirl cowl!!!!
As I said before, if you need a scan done on location, Michael Defeo is the man to call!!

He scanned the outside AND the inside and merged them together in the computer to create the entire cowl inside and out for study.

We were thrilled to see how close we got on our own prior to this ultimate reference came into our hands.

To top it all off, we just got the scan of Sara Raftery in from my buddy Mitch Gates. She is my model for scale of a Yvonne sculpture I'm planning on soon...

Things are coming up purple petunias here in the shop!!

Okay, is it too early to submit my order now? Hate to lose out on another great cowl/bust combo.

Ohhhhh I cant wait for this!! I’ve been scratchbuilding my own batgirl cowls as well as my west cowls for a while, but I can’t wait to se pewhat you come up with!
The goal when making a perfect replica is to not focus on the perfections, but perfecting the imperfections. :ugeek:

This is truly next level! Also, kinda spooky to see S.R. staring at me as I scrolled down the page!

Thanks Guys!!

I knew I had to use Sara as a model after seeing the images of her with Yvonne.
They were in perfect scale together!

This is just a photo for fun comparison . It's in the ballpark though..

I also added color to the print to better see the surface details.
It has held up remarkably well over the years. Someone has cared for it.
