Batmobile Bomb Detonator Prop

Post by rsaffle »

My take on the Batmobile Bomb Detector. I love the chunkiness and color scheme of this prop. I used a real antenna this time and it adds to the overall feel. I painted it and added dark blue vinyl to the face and back sides. It is my 1st prop that I made the electrical connections and lighting. I'm not much of an electrician to say the least but I push the button and the light does come on. Now I need to figure out how to wire it to the Batmobile passenger seat. :D

“The Bookworm Turns”
Season 1, Episodes 29

The Bookworm’s moll, Lydia Limpet, leaves a copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls on the passenger seat of the Batmobile. Batman is alerted by the Batmobile bomb detector and hits the eject button causing the Hemingway volume to shoot up into the air to explode harmlessly.

A very cool prop and a great job bringing it to life Randy! To say that the design of the gadgets on the show was all over the place is an understatement, but that being said, the blue and yellow color-scheme gizmos always seemed to be “on brand” to me for this incarnation of the character and the world that the show took place in.

Thanks Ben and I agree with you on that. Some of the props are perfect. I wonder if one designer is responsible for all of the best designed ones? The yellow on Batman's belt and chest is my favorite part of his look.

Another home run, Randy. The fact that you were able to light it up is the icing on the cake

Get that prop shop open! You've got at least one customer here that'll buy it all. :)
