Jokers Magic Box Prop

Post by rsaffle »

All of this was 3d printed except the domed lenses. I haven't added lights yet but I constructed it so I could at a future date.
I lined the interior with a glitter card stock. The circuit boards are painted a dark purple because that's a very Joker thing to do.
Designed a Joker calling card to finish it off.

The Joker pulls off a string of key-related pranks throughout Gotham City, and uses this magic box that seems to hypnotize the Dynamic Duo and leave them frozen in place!

“The Impractical Joker”
Season 2, Episodes 21

Thank you to A. Pennyworth for this suggestion and photos! I still owe you and I haven't forgotten sir.

Great work, as always! I feel compelled to freeze in my tracks and stare at your handiwork. Kudos on the fine hand modeling and costuming as well.

Memorizing! Another exacting great prop build and the Joker playing card uses the image on the surfboard! Nice touch.

Yeah, that Joker card is a great addition, I love it. Seeing how it turned out I'm surprised they never used something similar on the show

Thanks Jim! I called my son down and handed him a blue pair of gloves and he was already wearing an orange Hoodie. No pre planning went into it but Photoshop is an amazing tool!

Thanks guys!!

Surfing Joker by Ian McLean, on Flickr

I decided to replace the 70s' comic book Joker face on the Mattel surfboard ("Surf's Up, Joker's Under") with a TV-accurate one, using the image someone posted here. (I have had the jpeg of the illustration sitting on my computer for ages.)
