Batgirl cowl question

Post by rsaffle »

I'm planning on making a Batgirl cowl but I'm not sure what the back looks like. I want to be accurate as possible. Anybody have an image of their prop or the real one?

I found this image and it looks like a strap and another from the original test outfit that looks like a hole with a tie.

That "test" outfit has been debunked for a long time as not really a test outfit for the show at all even if it has had decades of cashing in on that claim for auctions.
13th Dimension had a great article with some images of the most iconic original #1 that was used in the earlier third season and all those red/yellow background promo shots:

The back had a strap for sure.

If you have any questions, my wife and I have made a few of these over the years. We don't sell anything but we have tons of info and experience.
Here's a couple pictures I took of another original (Azarian).

Here are a couple of clear shots of the #1 cowl from the back.

Biggest difference between this and the Azarian is that the straps flow smoothly from the center section without a break.
