Question re: villain/henchman masks

Post by chrisbcritter »

On the show, were the masks sometimes worn by the villains (Riddler mostly, Penguin occasionally and Joker just in the movie IIRC) and their henchmen made from the same pattern as Robin's, but without the stiffer material? Seems like the others were more form-fitting. I actually sewed up a Robin mask from a couple layers of heavy black satin but it makes me look more like one of Penguin's goons G.O.O.N.s...

They used wool felt on some of the black masks of the goons.

Yes, no heavy interfacing so it is much more flexible and form fitting.
Burts early mask collapsed at the bridge of the nose too until they beefed it up.

Pretty much the same pattern as Robin.

The one that leaps out as different is Gorshins later Riddler mask which has different styled eyes.
It's the one John Azarian owns.
